All our TÉKIDÉ stabilizing tiles are made in France, in our production unit located in Nangis, Paris Region. They are part of the circular economy, made from 100% recycled and recyclable raw materials sourced locally.

Designed to improve equine well-being and meet their basic needs (notably outdoor living), TÉKIDÉ stabilization slabs are robust and easy to maintain.

Resistant to heavy vehicles (e.g. farm machinery), they provide the necessary comfort for horses and humans alike.

Ideal for stabilizing muddy areas (shower areas, shelters, grooming areas, feeding areas, meadow entrances), their reduced size and weight make them easy to handle on their own.

They can also be used to create a parking area, storage space, stabilized paths or accesses.

ÉKI Shet stabilizing slabs can be installed on the ground, flat side up, or filled with sand or gravel if your horses are shod.

To find out more about our installation recommendations, please consult our installation guide, downloadable from the “Installation guide” section of the product data sheet.

ÉKI Shet mud control mats can be purchased online or collected from one of our collection points in France (only half pallets). You can see the list of our collection points here. If you are going to collect your stabiliser slabs, make sure you have a vehicle suitable for loading pallets (500kg/ half-pallet).

The tailgate is included for orders of up to 10 pallets. For larger orders, an unloading device is required (the transporter places the pallets at the foot of the lorry using a manual pallet truck).

For orders of 0.5 pallets to 7 pallets, your address must be accessible by 19-tonne truck.

For orders of 8 pallets or more and up to 29 pallets, your address must be accessible by 44-tonne truck.

For orders of 30 pallets or more, your address must be accessible by heavy goods vehicle.

Why choose the ÉKI Shet stabilizing slab?

The ÉKI Shet stabilizing slab for horses is ideal if you have small areas to cover. Compact and lightweight, it can easily be handled and installed by a single person. Its size and weight also make it an excellent solution if you plan to move your installation regularly.

Can TÉKIDÉ stabilizing tiles be laid directly on the ground?

Generally speaking, yes. The use of a geotextile or drainage material can bring added value to your installation. For further information, please refer to our installation guide.

What are ÉKI shet stabilizing slabs designed for?

The size of this paddock slab makes it ideal for stabilizing muddy areas subject to trampling or heavy traffic (horses, pedestrians and vehicles) on small surfaces:

- Rack towers

- Feeding areas

- Shelter fronts

- Paddock entrances

- Grooming areas

- Shower areas

- Pathways and access

For larger surfaces, we recommend using ÉKI Cob stabilizing slabs.

Do I need to prepare my floor before installing the stabilizing slabs?

Thanks to their increased rigidity and strength, new-generation TÉKIDÉ stabilizing slabs can be installed with minimal floor preparation.

On a flat, even surface, however, the installation of your tiles will be easier and the flatness of your platform will be more durable.

You can consult our installation tips by downloading our guide in the “Installation guide” section, just above this FAQ.

Do I need to remove the surface of my floor before laying my Tékidé tiles?

You can, in the case of particularly clayey soil, but you'll need to bring in a filler material such as gravel or compacted sand to restore the level of the finished floor. On the other hand, we can advise you to opt for an overhanging installation, including the addition of a stabilizing material before laying the slabs. This will preserve the natural permeability of the soil, allow water to drain away by gravity and save you earthwork costs.

Are TÉKIDÉ anti-mud tiles slippery?

The spikes on the top of our slabs are designed to slow down the movement of the hoof. As the surface is more or less rigid depending on temperature, slipperiness cannot be ruled out, especially for shod horses. However, as equines live outdoors, there is always a risk of slipping on grass or any other surface.

To reduce this risk, we recommend covering your tiles with sand after laying them. In this case, it may be a good idea to lay your slabs face down, honeycombed and filled with sand.

For shod horses, we advise against laying the slabs flat side up.

Can TÉKIDÉ stabilizing slabs be laid on a slope?

On a slope, it's best to lay the slabs with the honeycomb side up, filled with sand.

A slight slope is not a problem; on the contrary, it allows surface runoff. TEKIDE stabilizing slabs are designed to be laid regardless of the topography of the soil, and will follow its deformations.

If the area to be stabilized is on an even slope, the weight of our stabilizing slabs, the efficiency of their fastening system and their anti-lift system ensure that they remain effective, depending of course on the degree of slope.
