All our TÉKIDÉ stabilizing tiles are certified “Origine France Garantie”. Made in France, in our production unit located in Nangis, Paris region. They are part of the circular economy, made from 100% recycled and recyclable raw materials sourced locally.
Designed to improve equine well-being and meet their basic needs (notably outdoor living), TÉKIDÉ stabilization slabs are robust and easy to maintain.
Resistant to heavy vehicles (e.g. farm machinery), they provide the necessary comfort for horses and humans alike.
In addition to stabilizing muddy areas, their reversibility means they can be used in a wide range of situations: stabilizing the ground in an active stable, a paradise paddock or a horse track system, for example.
They can also be used to create a parking area, storage space, stabilized paths or accesses.
Last but not least, they can be used as a base for work areas such as riding arenas, lunging rings, walkers, gallop tracks, etc.
TÉKIDÉ stabilizing slabs can be installed on the ground with the flat side facing upwards for barefoot horses, or with the honeycomb side filled with sand or gravel for shod horses.

Can TÉKIDÉ stabilizing tiles be laid directly on the floor?
Yes, in general. The use of a geotextile or draining material can bring added value to your installation. For further information, please refer to our installation guide.
What uses are TÉKIDÉ stabilizing slabs designed for?
Their reversibility means they can be used in a wide variety of ways. Stabilization of muddy areas subject to trampling or heavy traffic (horses, pedestrians and vehicles), in particular:
- Winter paddocks, grassland
- Hay areas, watering areas
- Access paths, paddock entrances
- Car parks
- Stabilization of horse development areas:
- Active stables, paradise paddocks, horse track systems
Stabilization of working areas:
- Riding arenas
- Training or competition tracks
- Walkers
- Round pens
Does my floor need to be prepared before the stabilizing slabs are laid?
Thanks to their increased rigidity and sturdiness, new-generation TÉKIDÉ stabilizing slabs can be installed with minimal ground preparation.
On a flat, even surface, however, the installation of your slabs will be easier and the flatness of your platform will be more durable.
You can consult our installation tips by downloading our guide in the "Set up guide" section, just above this FAQ.
Do I need to remove the surface of my floor before laying my Tékidé tiles?
You can, in the case of particularly clayey soil, but you'll need to bring in a filler material such as gravel or compacted sand to restore the level of the finished floor. On the other hand, we can advise you to opt for an overhanging installation, including the addition of a stabilizing material before laying the slabs. This will preserve the natural permeability of the soil, allow water to drain away by gravity and save you earthwork costs.
Are TÉKIDÉ anti-mud tiles slippery?
The spikes on the top of our slabs are designed to slow down the movement of the hoof. As the surface is more or less rigid depending on temperature, slipperiness cannot be ruled out, especially for shod horses. However, as equines live outdoors, there is always a risk of slipping on grass or any other surface.
To reduce this risk, we recommend covering your tiles with sand after laying them. In this case, it may be a good idea to lay your slabs face down, honeycombed and filled with sand.
For shod horses, we advise against laying the slabs flat side up.
Can TÉKIDÉ stabilizing tiles be laid on a slope?
On a slope, it's best to lay the slabs with the honeycomb side up, filled with sand.
A slight slope is not a problem; on the contrary, it allows surface runoff. TEKIDE stabilizing slabs are designed to be installed whatever the topography of the ground, and will follow its deformations.
If the area to be stabilized is on an even slope, the weight of our stabilizing slabs, the efficiency of their fastening system and their anti-lift system ensure that they remain effective, depending of course on the degree of slope.
