Horse track systems: how to stabilise the soil?

food, friends and freedom

More and more owners, keepers and professionals in the equine industry are aware of these three fundamental needs for the mental, emotional and physical well-being of the horse.

For this reason, in both leisure and sport, accommodation methods are changing to allow horses to lead an outdoor life, surrounded by their fellow creatures with unlimited access to fibre.

Food, friends and freedom - at the end of the day, their needs are pretty much the same as ours.

horses outdoors means high-traffic areas, which means soil stabilisation

Unless you live on the plains of the American West, the space available for horses is often limited. This creates trampled areas where the ground becomes damaged and impassable when it rains.

So whatever system you choose to improve your horse's life, the problem arises:

How do you stabilise your active stable, paddock paradise or your horse track system ?

One stabilisation grid, many uses

Well, two models of tiles, to be exact, but the characteristics of the ÉKI Cob stabilising mat and the ÉKI Shet stabilising mat are the same. The TÉKIDÉ stabilising panels are reversible. They have a flat side and a honeycombed side, which can be laid one way or the other depending on use.

flat side up

for static zones

The flat side is ideal for installing in static areas (shelters, shelter fronts, feeding, resting and drinking areas, etc.).

Before installation, the ground must be levelled and as smooth as possible so that the stabilisation slabs rest on their entire surface and can be well anchored in the ground.

The mats must not be laid on deep mud or organic matter (shavings, straw, etc.).

honeycomb face up

for moving zones

The honeycombed side is used to fill in areas where horses walk, trot and gallop

This type of installation is suitable for stabilising an active stable, the tracks of your paradise paddock or your horse track system.

It is also preferable to use this type of installation in high-traffic areas where horses are likely to trot or canter regularly.

easy to use and durable

At TÉKIDÉ, we've been working alongside those involved in the equine industry for over 50 years. So we know the constraints of the people who look after horses and we're here to provide them with solutions that improve the well-being of their horses while saving them time.

easy installation

The stabilising mats fit together easily.

For ÉKI Cob stabilisation mats, however, it's advisable to use two people, as they weigh a lot (25.5kg vs. 10.5kg for the smalle tiles ÉKI Shet).

Once fitted together, their anti-lift system gives them great stability and optimum load-bearing capacity.

quick maintenance

Blower, broom, mechanical cleaning... Just do what you always do.

Cleaned regularly, TÉKIDÉ stabilising grids do not require any special maintenance methods.

more time and comfort

Horses can be kept outside on stabilised ground all year round.

People can move around easily (on foot, by car or tractor) to look after their horses.

Saving time and comfort means less fatigue and greater well-being for everyone.
